We have already seen enough modifications on the Royal Enfield 650 twins. The ones we have seen are nothing more than cosmetic enhancements, only intended to enhance the appeal of the two-wheelers. Being very modification friendly, these twin-cylinder motorcycles are mechanically very sound and have a lot of unutilized potentials. So today we bring you something different and very distinctively modified Continental GT 650 with a completely different approach and intent. So let’s have a quick look at the modified two-wheeler in a YouTube video by ‘BikeWithGirl’.

India’s Most Expensive Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 Modification: What’s Special?

At the beginning of the video, the presenter cranks the bike and we can clearly hear the melodious exhaust note which is loud and raspy. The exhaust also spits some flames when revved hard. The modifications on this machine are drag race intended and in a recent national-level drag competition, the bike managed to defeat the Ducati 848.

During the course of modification, the bike has shed 46 kgs of weight from its original total of 202 kgs. Although the bike looks quite hefty in terms of appearance, the lower weight makes it faster and more agile while achieving a top speed of 174 kmph. The intent behind this transformation was to build the fastest drag motorcycle in India and Royal Enfield also assisted in the process, says the modifier.

Talking about the changes to the engine, it gets a ported head to allow more air and fuel inside the combustion chamber for better performance. Other changes to the engine include high compression pistons, S&S camshafts, enhanced fuel injection, PowerTronic race-tuned ECU, FuelX system and more. All these changes have bumped up the power from the stock 48 bhp to 62 bhp.

Other major changes on this two-wheeled beast include redesigned front end with an adjustable rake, a 25 mm longer adjustable swing arm, lightweight aluminum rims shod with track-spec Michelin slicks, clip-on handlebars and custom exhaust. The front-end design is surprisingly called the dustbin fairing which is completely hand-crafted and it is finished in carbon fiber material. The fin-shaped elements on both sides were an afterthought.

Apart from this, the main part of this modification process involved reducing the overall weight of the motorcycle. For this, every nut and bolt in the bike is replaced by lightweight titanium units. In an attempt to further reduce the weight, the fuel tank has also been custom-made using aluminum and it holds just 3 liters of fuel. The modified bike consumes almost 3 liters of fuel in just a single quarter-mile run.

The total cost of this modification on the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 is Rs. 13 lakhs.
